I am turning 45 in the first week of February.  When we arrive in the States last March I was given some paints and a gift card to an art store. I immediately brought some canvas and set everything up on our dining room table.....my son came home from school and said " Mom you can't paint you have to look for work." he was only trying to be realistic about our situation.
I replied "I will always make time to paint!" truth was, that I had been looking for work that whole day, getting the "Come back, not hiring right now" etc...

Below are the paintings I have completed since my last birthday... I will always make time to paint...Yes I have a job now, some days I work more than I would like to, if it was up to me I  would still be a full time stay-at-home mother.....but I am trying to find the balance, be there for my kids (my number one priority is them).......creating something maybe comes in a strong second...I will always make time to paint...I am turning forty-five not sure if I know much more than I did last year......life is still a puzzle to me.....one that I am not sure which way it will come out, will all the pieces be in it? don't know, hmmm maybe I do know more about life than I  am giving myself credit for.......I know life is unexpected......yes be prepared to be surprised, keep doing what makes you happy and grounded, enjoy the sun shining on your face while you are walking, enjoy the smiles and laugher that come and go in your home and laugh too!
love  don't ever give up on love......paint about it if that helps you remember its importance, how it weaves through our lives like a soft but tough piece of thread....yes i will always make time to paint.

I was having a rotten day ( just paid £850 for my daughters rent at art college, have no job,no money, not selling much work, worrying about turning 45 in April!)Your blog post made me smile with recognition and I feel much better now , thank you. Keep painting and creating. " art is to humans what honey is to bees" or something! xxxx
