An etsy artist/shopkeeper interview with Andrea, owner of the inspiring shop andreacreates

Kt:       Please introduce yourself to my readers.

Andrea: Hello, my name is Andrea. I currently live in Ohio, but I’m  from California and I also grew up In France.

kt: What made you open an etsy shop?

Andrea:  I’ve always been creative. Drawing, painting, sewing knitting and more. I had done a few local craft shows and when I discovered etsy, I thought it would be another great way to get my projects out there. I've sold all around the world-and I think that's really cool. I have a map on the wall where I've glued buttons to all of the different places I've sold to!

kt: Oh, I love your map idea.

kt:  What types of things(people,music,etc..) inspire you?

Andrea: I find inspiration almost everywhere.
Especially movies, books & magazines. I find that I'm inspired by color a lot. I love unusual color combinations and try to remember to incorporate them into a future project.

Kt:  What do you like about having your own on-line shop?

Andrea: I love the freedom to be able work when I want. Not having to get dressed up or go anywhere when feeling inspired-just down to the studio :)

Kt: How would you describe your style (vibe)

Andrea: Having grown up in 2 different countries, I think my style has evolved into something pretty eclectic. I have a wide variety of favorite styles from modern to retro, I like to mix and match them  as much as possible. 

Kt: What symbol/ image reappears in your work a lot?


Andrea: I guess flowers appear in my work a lot. It isn’t always intentional but seems to be a common theme. They're just so pretty :)

Kt:  What are your favorite materials to use when creating?
 
Andrea: I like to incorporate unique, and if possible, vintage, buttons and trims into most of my projects.
