summer break

I am taking a summer break from my blog and etsy store for the month of July. I am going to be spending my free time at home relaxing with my kids, taking walks, and hanging out at the market. Have a great July friends!!

etsy treasury

One of my shop items was featured in an etsy treasury Peaches on Parade today! Thank you Carol Sue of Funk and More for putting together such a fresh and pretty treasury and making me a part of it!

I have really put my etsy shop on the back burner since I started working so much....but I want to change this, really I do!

I am so excited to share today my sister, madeline. She does not have a blog yet(hint hint:) so I am posting her photos here. If any of you are in the same boat and you want to participate in this Saturday dress-up prompt please, please email me your photos and I will post them here.

I am sharing a little of what she wrote me because I love what she said

"Like I said on the phone yesterday, your blog- the attached youtube clip, and all the responses you received for dressing up have really made an impact on me and how I see myself. Always a struggle for me, wearing beautiful things! I admire the pieces, the people who have the confidence to 'pull them off', and the beauty that they add to my day by simply sharing them. Why then, do I have such a hang-up wearing them myself?!"

I love that she is going for it!!

bits of my home

I was sitting this morning drinking some tea looking around my house. Wanting to blog about all the paintings and sewn items I had been making...but alas they are just ideas that have been swimming around in my head for the last two weeks. I quite honestly have not had the energy to sit down and make them into realities...maybe this upcoming week. So I thought instead I would share glimpses of my home with you all today. Today I share some of our dining room.

dress-up prompt #5

An old faded purple dress for $3.50.  It had a hole in the back but the bead work alone!! The design of the dress...how old is it?....I could not leave it there on the rack! It hangs up in my room now so I can admire some stranger's workmanship. I could barely zipper up the side to put it on for my self portrait prompt today:) 

Who used to wear this dress....I wonder and smile about this.
