little paintings

I sit down to paint a flower and two birds show up, I then decide to paint a small abstract and two birds show up again, "a butterfly that is what I will paint" and of course one bird flies into the painting and the other one wanders in strolling along. Lovebird series still needs to be painted.....I suppose I am not finished with this series yet, my hands and heart show me that I am not.

thinking

I am thinking of not reopening my etsy store, instead putting more efforts into being local with my wares. I am having so much fun at the Saturday market and I have my painting hanging up right now at the New Zone Gallery downtown. It has felt so great to meet the people buying my items at the market and then the reception for the art show was a blast.
I love etsy but it just may not be worth all the work right now, my time is limited between my two jobs and the three teenagers:)
so thinking on it, but leaning in this new direction.

Three generations of Saturday Market vendors(missing in the photo is my dad:) he had a booth too.
Iris and I are working on the booth each week, changing it to make it better. I am trying to talk my daughter Jazz into selling her photos, she has such a gift.

vision board for august 2012

covered wagons, how i love them so, i used to take myself to the eugene pioneer museum(at least this is what i called it) in town all the time at all my different ages. This local museum is filled with treasures from the past.
p.s. if you live in eugene they are looking for photographers to enter their work

Roses, shells,  country and red these keep showing up in my vision boards

art trade from the art fence, birds, old books, shell necklaces (I am so into making these right now i collected a load of shells from the beach), and marelene dietrich i have always loved her style.

laundry photos, an airsteam and camping by lakes, gorgeous vintage linens.

vision board is up in my room YES! YES! YES!

I entered my new painting "I choose"  in the mayor's art show!!  They decide on August 8th which paintings they will accept but no worries if it doesn't make it in I will join in The New Zone's art event.
This is a win win.

faerieworlds fun

I went to faerieworlds with my two daughters, my mom and stepfather. I loved the magic and sheer excitement that filled the air. The costumes all with smiles attached. A wishing tree where you could attach your wishes to colorful fabric. The small table for little ones...how big their grins were as they sat together on little logs painted with mushroom tops. Watching my daughters play dress-up.  My sweet Iris looking so Venetian with her eyes changing green along with her mask......and then there was my dear Jasmine, a true butterfly in every sense. We danced for over an hour to an Australian band. Next year we decided we will make better headdresses...I can't wait. so today I am sharing a lot of photos because I want to give you the feeling of the fair.

holding up a headdress I tried on so i could photograph it
